Every one of my life events led me to realize the courage it takes to LIVE AND that I am free to choose my actions!
It's interesting ... scientists research homeostasis in the body ... the system's ability to regulate its energy. You might call it balance.
Balance in the body is the cycling between processes called, 'positive feedback and negative feedback'.
Positive feedback, 'fight or flight', is an action taken to produce a particular outcome. This is what medications, and some natural remedies do, including essential oils. They fuel activity.
Negative feedback introduces a pause, not unlike taking your foot off the gas and encourages 'rest and digest'.
Take a moment to consider how you go through your days. It's the difference between noticing a puppy laying there and watching it sleep or eating a meal and savoring the flavors ...
Without question, there is 'stuff' to do every day. BUT what is it costing you to resist the opportunity to pause and grab a chance to delight in something that nourishes YOU?
We've normalized 'fight or flight'. Otherwise, people wouldn't be encouraging self-care to prevent burnout. The messages are clear and believe it not, I've actually been told by several people ...
'I don't have time to pause'
'Saving time' is not buying you time. Convenience with the intention of rushing onto something else is sickening.
Balance happens when you invest in 'savoring time'! Every situation or person throughout your day is given to you to make of it what you will. It's a fact .. some are frustrating and stressful ...
But WHY suffer through something? Why be in a rush to 'attack' something?
Can you imagine living with a mindset that is eager to grab a moment for yourSelf?
Possibly a DEEP soulfull breath ... pausing to TAKE IN a delightful aromatic essential oil
ORCatching a glance at a favorite photo
Anything that clears your head and brings you back to feeling good before moving forward with the 'things that need to happen'.
I wonder what life would look like if more of us were hustling to 'take a wholehearted moment for ourselves' ...
Let me ask you ... are you using time to exist or choosing to be selfish long enough to LIVE?
Your body and mind will let you know ....
A note I received from Neale Donald Walsch this morning …
"I believe God wants you to know ...
... that the time has come for you to nourish your soul.
When was the last time that you swam naked?
Or sang in the shower? Or blew bubbles?
Or held a puppy? Or kissed a baby?
Or made love all Sunday afternoon?
Or prayed really softly, not from need, but from love?
Has it been a while?
Then hurry. Do it.
Hurry.
This is life that is going by..."
